Ranabaali’s advance bookings in North America have crossed $52,000 with four days to go — but it’s already playing catch-up. The Vijay Deverakonda-Rashmika Mandanna period drama is set for a theatrical release on October 16, 2026, marking their first on-screen reunion since Dear Comrade in 2019 and the first time they’re seen as a couple post-marriage. Directed by Rahul Sankrityan and produced under the Mythri Movie Makers banner by Naveen Yerneni and Y Ravi Shankar, the film is described as Vijay Deverakonda’s most expensive project yet.

Despite high expectations, the film’s advance sales began slowly. A trailer released days ago failed to generate significant momentum, leaving collections at just $52,000 with four days remaining before opening. This figure is dwarfed by the numbers for Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2, which has already secured $71,000 in advance sales across North America with only three days left to go. The Tamil blockbuster, releasing a day earlier on October 15, is expected to dominate screens globally due to its franchise status, Rajinikanth’s enduring stardom, and a slate of high-profile cameos.

The competition isn’t just about timing, it’s about scale. Jailer 2’s massive rollout means it will claim a disproportionate share of available screens, especially in multiplexes where Ranabaali might otherwise find space. While Ranabaali’s Telugu version launches on October 16, dubbed versions in other languages won’t follow until October 23, creating a gap that could stall early audience reach.

For Ranabaali to succeed, it needs to gross $2.2 million in North America to break even. Equivalent to 21.29 crore rupees. That target is ambitious, but not out of reach. Vijay Deverakonda’s previous film, Kingdom, earned $1.76 million despite poor word-of-mouth, proving his draw remains strong. Still, this time, he’s up against a different kind of force: a cultural phenomenon with built-in demand.

The real test begins Friday. Whether Ranabaali can turn early momentum into box office traction, or get swallowed by the roar of Jailer 2. Will depend on what audiences say when the lights go down.
