Saif Ali Khan has a new gig that has nothing to do with a film set. Safari Industries has signed him on as brand ambassador for Magnum by Safari, its luggage label that sells trolley bags and duffles starting at ₹1,400.
The campaign runs on the line 'Swag On The Move,' and the brand's pitch is straightforward. Affordable design, built for people who travel a lot and want their bags to look like it was a choice, not a compromise. Saif fronts the upcoming campaign across what the company calls its key brand and consumer touchpoints, with Flipkart, the brand's exclusive selling platform, also carrying the push.
Sudhir Jatia, Managing Director of Safari Industries, framed the tie-up as a natural extension of where Magnum by Safari already stands. He said the brand has "quickly emerged as a top luggage choice on Flipkart" on the back of "premium quality, modern aesthetics, and exceptional value," and that Saif's involvement "perfectly embodies this vision." His words, going by the statement, tie the actor's off-screen image directly to the brand's promise of style without the price tag to match.
Saif's own comment reads less like ad copy and more like an actual travel philosophy, or at least it's presented that way. "I'm drawn to the brand because it offers good design at an affordable price, without compromising on style or character," he said, adding that Magnum by Safari "feels like a natural fit for the way I travel — simple, confident and with a sense of style."
It's a fairly standard endorsement deal on paper. What makes the timing interesting is where Saif is in his work calendar. He's mid-promotion for Haiwaan, the Priyadarshan-directed film that also has Akshay Kumar playing against type in a negative role, one of his more talked-about releases coming up. A luggage campaign is a lower-stakes, lower-drama proposition next to that, and brands tend to like signing actors precisely when they're visible for other reasons. Whether that visibility was a factor in Safari's decision isn't something either side has said outright.
No release date has been given yet for when the actual campaign films or visuals will start appearing on Flipkart and Magnum by Safari's other channels. For now, it's an announcement and two quotes, with the creative still to follow.
