Suriya finally has a Diwali release again. The actor and director Jithu Madhavan have officially titled their film Scene, and it's locked for a November 6 theatrical release this Diwali, according to Vikatan. Shooting wrapped just days before the announcement, per the report.

That November 6 date matters more than it might look on paper. Vikatan notes this is Suriya's first theatrical Diwali release in 15 years, going back to 7aum Arivu in 2011. Everything since has landed on other calendars. So a Diwali slot again, after this long, is the kind of thing his fan base has been asking for.

Nazriya, Naslen And A Familiar Uniform

Nazriya and Naslen play key roles alongside Suriya, and Sushin Shyam is composing the music, Vikatan reported. Fans online have already been circulating a title teaser featuring Suriya, Nazriya, Naslen and Jithu Madhavan, which tracks with the buzz building around the announcement.

Suriya plays a cop again, this time a character called Inbaraj. It's not new territory for him. He's been Anbuchelvam in Kaakha Kaakha and Duraisingam across the Singam franchise, and now Inbaraj joins that list. The man clearly likes a badge.

His affection for the profession isn't just on screen. In an old Coffee With DD interview, Suriya talked about how policemen don't get Sundays off, or Diwali, or Pongal, how they sleep and eat right there on duty. "This is not a job done for a salary," he said. "It's a love." Whether that sentiment finds its way into Scene's writing is something we'll only know in November.

A Malayalam Reunion, 22 Years Later

There's another angle Vikatan flagged that's easy to miss. Suriya last worked with a Malayalam director on Perazhagan, and Scene marks the first time since then that he's teamed up with one again. That gap runs 22 years. Jithu Madhavan, who's built a name in Malayalam cinema, is the one closing it.

No trailer, no first-look poster, no runtime details yet. Just a title, a cast list and a release date. For a film that wrapped shoot only days ago, Scene is moving fast toward theatres, and November 6 gives it a clear run at the Diwali box office without, so far, a confirmed direct competitor in the frame.
