In rupee terms, that's 2.76 crore in gross advance sales for Saturday, excluding blocked seats, up about 11.74% from Friday's 2.47 crore. The net figure for day 2 advances comes to 2.34 crore.
Exhibitors seem to be reading the trend the same way. The film opened Friday with 7,005 shows nationwide, and that count has already risen to 7,358 for Saturday, an addition of 303 shows. At an average ticket price of Rs 218, more shows generally means distributors are betting on walk-in crowds picking up once word of mouth settles.
And word of mouth, per Koimoi, has mostly worked in the film's favour so far. That's the reason the trade is pencilling in a healthier second day rather than the usual Friday-to-Saturday dip that plagues films without strong reviews.
The target now is a double-digit net on day 2. Trade estimates put the floor at around Rs 10 crore net for Saturday, with room to climb higher if evening and night shows fill up the way weekend shows typically do for a film riding decent buzz. Whether it clears that number by a wide margin or just scrapes past it will shape how the opening weekend gets read in trade circles by Monday.
The film's opening day itself was on the softer side relative to its budget, which is part of why this advance uptick matters. A rising day 2 doesn't erase a soft Friday, but it does suggest the drop-off that often kills a mid-range release isn't happening here.
Directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra, The Vvaan comes from Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor's Balaji Motion Pictures, along with TVF Motion Pictures and 11:11 Productions, with Niraj Kothari and Arunabh Kumar also producing. The cast beyond Malhotra and Tamannaah includes Anup Soni, Sunil Grover, Shweta Tiwari and Maniesh Paul.
The real test comes once the full day 2 numbers are in. Advance bookings only tell part of the story, the walk-in crowd on a Saturday evening usually decides whether a film's second day genuinely outperforms its first, or just looks better on paper because more shows got added. That verdict should be clear by Sunday morning when the day 2 collection report lands.
